Making Sense of the Bible

Join us at Bev and Tom Crocker’s Home, 7 Fairway Lane Foxboro for an adult Christian Education study facilitated by Deb Byron

Rev. Adam Hamilton, a United Methodist pastor, invites us into an honest conversation about the Bible, beginning with foundational questions such as How and when was the Bible written? Who decided what made it into the scriptures and why? How literally must we read it? Is the Bible ever wrong? He addresses some of the difficult questions that continue to divide Christians and congregations alike. Participants will read chapters of Hamilton’s book MAKING SENSE OF THE BIBLE, Rediscovering the Power of Scripture Today each week ahead of the session, and view a short video and discuss the material during the session.

Join us as we get together once a week for 6 weeks in fellowship and learning – to gain a renewed appreciation of the Bible, so that we might hear God speak through it with life-changing and life-giving words.

Please contact the church office to register for this study by Sunday 9/24. You will want to read the first few chapters of the book prior to the first session, so order a copy of the book as soon as you know you’ll be joining the group (available through Amazon, Christianbook.com, and other sellers). Let the church office know if you would like us to order a book for you.
